Herbal teas

ObrThis name commonly denotes beverages that are, as a matter of fact, no real teas because they are not made from the leaves of the tea tree. Among their benefits we can include a low or zero content of caffeine and a pleasant sweetish taste. For this reason, all herbal teas are suitable for consumption in the evening and for preparing iced drinks. The most popular and best-known herbal teas include the following:

Rooibos comes from the Aspalathus linearis plant which grows only in the mountainous region of the Cederberg in South Africa. The absence of caffeine and the pleasant taste of the beverage make Rooibos ideal for everyday consumption.

Honeybush grows in the mountainous regions of South Africa, and is also caffeine-free. Its infusion has a full, sweetish taste and copper-like colour.

Lapacho is a South American herbal tea, sometimes called “the tea of the Incas”. It is known to have medicinal effects. Lapacho has a pleasant taste and its infusion is of a lightly golden colour.

Mate is a famous South American beverage. Its stimulating and slimming effects have contributed to its popularity even in Europe. Mate also exists in the roasted form. It is very popular for its distinct taste.
